Aloha Hilo Union School Families,

We hope you and your ʻohana are having a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer break!

This is a friendly reminder for families with a child entering Kindergarten this upcoming school year, as well as families enrolling any new students at Hilo Union School.

Please complete your child's registration as soon as possible. Early registration is extremely important because it helps us secure the appropriate number of teachers, classrooms, and resources to ensure a successful start to the school year.

📝 Kindergarten & New Student Enrollment Information

Kindergarten Age Requirement:
Children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before July 31, 2026.

How to Register:
Please stop by the school office to pick up an enrollment packet, or call us at (808) 933-0900 and we will be happy to assist you through the enrollment process.

Summer Office Hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

EOEL Preschool Registration

Aloha Hilo Union School Families,

We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

We want to share an exciting opportunity for our families with young children. The State of Hawaiʻi Executive Office on Early Learning (EOEL) is offering free public pre-K programs for eligible 3- and 4-year-old keiki for the upcoming school year.

High-quality early learning is such a powerful foundation for your child's education, and we highly encourage interested families to apply as soon as possible.

📝 Application Information
How to Apply: Applications must be submitted online directly through the EOEL Public Pre-K Application Portal.

Priority Guidelines: Please note that enrollment priority will be given to 4-year-old children, followed by 3-year-olds.

Important Note: Space is limited, so we recommend submitting your application early to secure a spot.
